The meeting was brought to order at 6:35 by Kathy Wickham, who said there was some business to attend to before we got down to the festivities. We then took a vote and by unanimous consent, the proposed By-Laws were accepted. The floor was given to Loretta Twiford who passed out the proposed slate of officers as well as a listing of committees which need volunteers.
Kathy Wickham also proposed several ideas for a block of the month type program for the coming year: there was the sampler, a changing with the seasons wall hanging, a mystery quilt in four phases, and a round robin. It was finally voted and determined that we will do a round robin beginning in February and turned in completed in May, then do a two blocks per month sampler beginning in May and ending in October. Tina Dietz also proposed a very easy charity quilt and she will arrange to secure the Library for a couple of workshop sessions.
Then was Show and Tell, food, and the fabric exchange which is always a fun time. Say, did anyone see some nice white fabric with snowflakes on it?? Hmmm
After the festivities were over. the election of officers was held and the slate of officers as presented was accepted without write-in additions. The officers are: President, Kathy Woods; Vice President, Kathy Wickham; Secretary, Janice Taylor, and Treasurer, Louise Jargowsky. The volunteer committee sheets were also handed in and after some minor changes, most committee positions were filled. Further volunteer opportunities will again be presented at the January meeting. Be ready to say Yes !
Thank you to Janice Taylor and Carol Zaleski for taking such fine photos.
