There were lots of beautiful items for Show & Tell – see photos nearby.
Tina Dietz put on a program about Orphan Blocks and ideas on how to repurpose them for future quilts. It was all quite amazing to my traditional mind and really broke down some “aw shucks” barriers. It inspired me to try to be more inventive and creative with those orphan blocks in future. How about you?
She showed us a bit about how to create and add borders to some repurposed blocks to create a whole new block. Cutting a block, piecing background fabric to it and then cutting that background fabric into a new shape (see triangle wedges above) was something I never would have thought of doing. Wow. Great ideas, Tina.
There is a teacup from the teacup exchange which is still waiting for its owner to pick it up. If this is yours, please see Tina Dietz or Kathy Wickham.
