BRQ Mtg Jan 9, 2024

And a very happy new year to you all ! Welcome to 2024 . . . our brand new volunteer Editor has accepted employment out of our area, so you are stuck with me for just a while longer it looks like. I don’t mind if you don’t. Just one thing . . . I was unable to attend the January meeting, so this may be a brief encounter, but, on with the show!

A general welcome was given by our newly elected President, Cynthia L who was instrumental in founding the Blue Ridge Quilters back in January, 2001.

Kathy W brought old books, and challenged volunteers to take one home, and bring in a project inspired by “old” instructions made with a modern approach, using our present time tools and notions.

Here are some shots of the room:

At/around the Community Service table, I see a completed youth quilt with all kinds of city vehicles and interesting things pictured – I am sure some young person will enjoy receiving this! On the table it looks like completed NICU blankets and pillow cases being turned in. Good job, ladies.

OK, now it is time for Show and Tell, always a delight to see the beautiful items being done by members. Enjoy!

Well folks, that seems to be the highlights of the Blue Ridge Quilters January, 2024 meeting. I am so glad you were able to visit and hopefully appreciate the fine quilts shown, along with the community service projects done by any/all members. Until next time, stay warm and happy quilting!
